Interactive Environments

The interactive environments featured on the Portal to Peru website make use of digital tools including interactive maps using GIS (geographic information systems), digital editing and visual novel game software, and online exhibition platforms to share the art and stories of Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco (CTTC) members.  Explore a community map, see videos and play interactive narratives, and view textile exhibits on an number of topics.

The Center for Tradition Textiles of Cusco (CTTC) currently works with ten communities in and around the Cusco region of Peru. Learn a little about each community and its distinctive weaving practices in this navigable community map.

Interactive Story Experience

Step into the shoes of a volunteer, tourist, or weaving student. Here you can first view digital stories about the personal experiences of women who work with the Center for Traditional Textiles (CTTC), before exploring interactive visual novels that help relate the weavings created by Center members to broader themes that affect their lives such as tourism, globalization, and preservation of cultural heritage.

Digital Textile Exhibit

The digital textile exhibit presents weaving designs, techniques, types, and process. You can learn more about Andean weaving here, and contribute your own stories or pictures to exhibits.
